Beige, Tan, Taupe and Stone
These are daylight suits. Every one of them belongs to heat, sun and an outdoor venue, and every one of them looks wrong under a chandelier in February. Within that, the shade decides how formal the suit reads.
Beige is the palest and the most summer. Tan is warmer and a touch darker. Taupe has grey in it, which makes it the most business-capable of the group. Stone is the coolest and the closest to light grey. Nobody will quiz you on which is which, but they do photograph differently, and tan and terracotta flatter warm skin tones in a way stone does not.
The Suits
The Beige Suit is the straightforward one at $239.99. The Beige and Tan Suit sits a shade deeper. Taupe is the one to pick if the suit also has to work at an office, and Stone is the coolest cast of the set. For warmth there is Terracotta and Caramel, and for pattern the Tan Check Notch Lapel, which is the one that reads as a deliberate choice rather than a default.
Where a Beige Suit Earns Its Place
Three occasions carry this color. Summer and beach weddings, where a dark suit is both hot and out of place. Graduations, which are almost always daytime and outdoors. And garden parties and daytime receptions, where beige does what navy cannot: it looks relaxed without looking careless.
It is not a funeral suit, not an interview suit, and not an evening suit. If the event is after dark or formal, gray or navy is the answer instead.
What to Wear With It
Brown shoes, never black: black against beige is the single most common mistake in this color and it cuts the outfit in half. A white or pale blue shirt. If you want contrast, put it in the tie, and a burgundy or forest tie against tan is the pairing that works without thinking about it.
Jackets, Trousers and Vests on Their Own
Beige works unusually well in pieces, because a tan jacket over grey or navy trousers is a classic warm weather combination rather than a compromise. The Beige Suit Jacket is $149.99, beige suit pants are $79.99, the heavier Beige Pants are $89, and the Beige Vest is $69. All of them are listed above with the suits.
What Comes in the Box
Every full suit here ships as a complete bundle: jacket, pants, shirt, tie and socks. Beige and tan suits run from $239.99 to $279. Shipping is free over $99 and exchanges are free.
Getting the Size Right
Pale suits show a bad fit the way white does, so this is not the color to round up a size in. Our suit size estimator takes height, weight and build and returns a jacket and pant size in about a minute. If it is off, the exchange costs nothing.
